Up for auction/sale is a wonderful and scarce early American copper classic from the United States Mint—an 1835 Classic Head Half Cent (Philadelphia Mint issue with no mint mark), preserved in choice Extra Fine to About Uncirculated (XF/AU) condition.
Struck during the administration of Andrew Jackson, this historic fractional copper piece features William Kneass’s modification of John Reich's classic Classic Head design of Liberty on the obverse and a wreath-enclosed denomination on the reverse. Preserved in exceptional XF/AU condition, this specimen retains sharp, crisp major design elements with minimal circulation friction, boasting smooth surfaces and a gorgeous original chocolate-brown copper patina.
