Up for auction/sale is one of the most famous and iconic modern U.S. coins ever struck—an authentic 1909 VDB Lincoln Wheat Cent in choice Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Red-Brown (RB) condition!

Struck at the historic Philadelphia Mint during the very first weeks of the Lincoln cent's release, the 1909 VDB is universally beloved by collectors. Designer Victor David Brenner’s prominent initials (V.D.B.) on the reverse caused a brief public stir, leading Secretary of the Treasury Franklin MacVeagh to halt production after just 27,995,000 pieces were struck. Finding an authentic, non-circulated mint state survivor with original mint color intact is an absolute thrill. Retaining brilliant flash and crisp, razor-sharp design details, this gorgeous specimen is a cornerstone trophy piece for any high-grade Lincoln cent or 20th-century type set.
